Semde a Tibetan Solution for Depression

We’ve all faced depression at some point in our lives. Some more so than others.

We all have our ways of dealing with our sadness however, I wanted to share a natural solution for depression for those who go days, weeks, months, or years in depression.

Semde (Sem-kyi De-kyid or Sem-de) is a Tibetan solution for depression. The name translates to “Mental happiness” or “happiness of the mind.” Just because its name means a happy brain doesn’t mean it’s enough to say it’s perfect for your depression. It also consists of 18 natural remedies meant for helping with the following:

  • Irritability
  • Lack of concentration
  • Persistent Sadness
  • Depression
  • Seasonal Affective Disorder
  • Stress Management

When coupled with Agar 35, Semde is used to successfully help people recovering from potent drugs. Most antidepressants are harmful to the body and research shows that many of them can be replaced with a placebo.

5 Natrual Ways of Reducing Depression

I speak from experience when it comes to depression. I never took antidepressants but I was depressed for most of my younger years because of some harsh experiences I went through. Through high school and college I had a therapist I could speak with but once I left college it was just me, my partner, and best friend. I had to deal with my depression and here’s how.

1 Decide and Accept that You Deserve to be Happy.

I learned that while I was sad most of the time it was because I felt that I deserved it and half of me enjoyed being sad. Somehow I comforted myself with my sadness and it was acceptable to me until I decided it was time to start looking towards brighter days.

2 Stand Up Straight Like a Millionaire.

I saw this interesting clip on Ted Talks about the way your posture affects how you feel about yourself. Roll those shoulders back and keep your head high. You’ll be amazed by how simple changes in the body allow for more energy to flow and a positive outlook on life can appear.

3 Breathe.

It sounds simple but it’s simply overlooked. When we’re hunched over we constrict our breathing limiting the amount of oxygen we allow to our brain. Relax and take a deep breath in through your nose and out your mouth. Breathe in positive thoughts and out the junk.

4 Avoid Junk Food or Fast Food | Like there’s a difference. lol.

According to a study published in the journal Public Health Nutrition, junk food, and fast food consumption sparks depression. Sugary sodas, high-fructose corn syrup, and processed foods all trigger depression. You eat junk food you’ll get junky feelings.

5 Grounding and Sunbathing.

Walk barefoot and soak up the morning sun. The sun will increase your vitamin D levels and your feet will soak up the electron-enriched earth which improves the balance of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. More on that at a later date.
